The D&AD: New Blood, Monotype brief. The concept was to create a series of touch points to reflect at least 2 films from any given director. I chose Nicolas Winding Refn who directed films like Drive and Bronson. I brought Bronson to life through posters and due to the restrictions of the brief using type as image, I created a paper-mache ‘B’ to represent the character of Bronson and photographed it in a way to show his larger than life character. The tickets were for Refn’s first film trilogy Pusher. Based around drugs I wanted to the type to reflect the clean, purity of the drugs vs. the effects. The colour palette reflects back to Refn’s directing style of using fluorescent lighting for most of his shots.
